The Kitchen

The original kitchen at Chiles House had an icebox, stove, oven and large sink. The floors and walls were covered in tile.   It had a 16-station servants calling system.   Below is how the original kitchen looked circa 1927.

Kevin Gentry brought the kitchen into the 21st century with his dramatic renovation.  While the kitchen was serviceable at the time, it did not appear to have any built it cupboards.  These photos are screenshots of Gentry’s YouTube video showing the kitchen transformation begun in 2009. Below is how the kitchen appears today.  Dramatic black cabinetry fills the walls and extends to the ceiling.   New flooring and modern stainless steel appliances were added along with generous lighting and a built in television.  The ceiling has a stainless steel ceiling fan.
